Movado & ESQ Movado

Movado Group, Inc. (MGI), one of the world’s leading watchmakers, designs, manufactures and distributes watches for ten respected brand names. Movado, the flagship brand within the MGI portfolio, was founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland in 1881, and acquired by the corporation in 1993.

Recognized today for its iconic Museum® dial and modern aesthetic, Movado has earned more than 100 patents and 200 international awards for watch design and time technology, and Movado timepieces are in the permanent collections of museums worldwide.

This long, rich heritage of artistry and innovation in design, and a close, enduring association with the arts continue to define the Movado brand identity. Always in motion, Movado creates modern watches of exceptional craftsmanship and design distinction.

ESQ Movado was conceived in the late 1980’s as a classic Movado watch family. In 1992, it was launched as a separate brand designed to bring a new level of Swiss quartz quality to watches with prices as appealing as their looks.

Now dramatically re-envisioned, the new ESQ Movado brand combines distinctive American style with unique signature design elements and Swiss-engineered precision in a dynamic range of versatile, well-priced collections.

ArtCarved: A Distinctive Heritage Of Innovation Since 1850

Over a century ago the skilled ArtCarved artisans created the first seamless wedding rings allowing for greater comfort of fit. With innovation and craftsmanship at the heart of the brand, ArtCarved introduced the first "carved" wedding rings opening up a new world of design detail and styling. But it wasn't just the rings that ArtCarved changed, as soldiers went off to WWII ArtCarved popularized the dual ring ceremony so that both spouses could have a symbol of their love and commitment. This 'new' tradition has become the standard for how couples now symbolize the meaning of 'I do'.

Simon Golub

Simon Golub and Sons is a multi-generational legacy. Founded in 1922, the leading jewelry manufacturer and supplier has prevailed through the Great Depression, World War II, national calamities and economic crises, reinventing itself time after time to adapt and thrive. One thing, however, that has never changed is Simon Golub’s commitment to the belief that trust, quality, service and innovation are the cornerstones for building and maintain a long-lasting and profitable business. The company’s founder Simon Golub, began alone as a loose diamond dealer selling to retail stores in Seattle. By setting high standards for ethics and service, Simon gradually built the business while acquiring a long-term and loyal customer base.

Today, the company has many second and third generation customers. Stan Golub, Simon’s son, joined the firm after being discharged from the Army in 1946. Simon had already expanded the product selection to include finished jewelry. In 1968, SGS acquired the relatively unknown Seiko franchise for the Northwest and Northern California. With the other regional distributors, SGS helped build Seiko into the no.1 watch line in the country. IN 1971, Stan Golub’s son-in-law, Andy Harris, joined the firm and in 1984 became the third president in the company’s history. SGS acquired the Disney watch franchise and also built a modern jewelry factory in Seattle for future expansion. Through the late ‘80s and early ‘90s the SGS customer base was extended, first to the western third of the United States and by 1991 to the entire country, serviced by 18 sales people.

With no fourth generation to enter the business, SGS was acquired in 2007 by an existing overseas strategic partner, Shrenuj & Co. Ltd., a large vertically integrated diamond sight holder and finished jewelry manufacturer based in India with 15 offices throughout the world. Since 1906, Shrenuj & Co, ltd., has prospered through four generations, each bringing new energy and guiding the business to greater success. Its customer base is strong and loyal, with each relationship built on creating mutual value. Today, Simon Golub is run by co-CEOS, Nihar Parikh and Dennis Reed. They continue to maintain a commitment to their three corporate core values; heritage, innovation and passion, while reinventing their business model to ensure ongoing success. With a foundation nearly 100 years old and rock-solid in in its commitment to innovation, reliability and consistency – along with a proven ability to adapt to industry changes that inevitably will come- Simon Golub is poised to grow even stronger during its second century of service to jewelers across the country.

Today, production lines include Caro74 and Valina, which specialize in bridal jewelry, as well as, Colore SG which focuses on contemporary silver/18k yellow gold accents and colored stones design.
